It's start of June and the rains have just started so did the hectic work schedule. Today's Friday and there's a house party tonight at Sandeep's (aka "Chiku") place. Non stop Whatsapp ring tone buzzing on my phone. The "WiFi HiFi" group is all geared up for the party - that's my school group along with their wifey's.
Planning to work from home as its raining but then again that's something ONLY a manager can enjoy; what about those below me? So... work from home is dropped and I'm off to work. Took my car today to escape the rains and to ensure i reach the party on time tonight.
Chiku planned a day off form work to make all arrangements. Well he should; as the party was at his place ;)
Unfortunately the day had been full of client meetings. And with a new project in hand, didn't had the guts to cancel even a single one of them :(. Whatsapp notification tone kept reminding me of the house party. Haa and that worked positively as all of the work was completed in no time :).
It's 8pm; Vidya (my wifey) calls up saying she reached home and waiting for me to go to Chiku's place. I was all geared up to pack for the day; and to my horror a meeting invite pops-up on my laptop screen. Scheduled in half and hour; a priority client and cannot be cancelled ':(. Messaged Vidya "Have meeting in half an hour. Will be late. Be ready, will reach by 9:30". And there comes the sad face from her "Ok :(".
Finally the meeting ended and it's already 9pm. Whatsapp kept buzzing; the party had already started and everyone started sending pictures...

...and more...
This is first time of the day i got a chance to reply on whatsapp "Coming guys. Just left office" i said. "Saale jaldi aa. daru khatam hogaya" (come fast. there are no more drinks left for you) they reply. I know they won't do that but it made me rush as fast as i can. I couldn't even wait to shut down my laptop; just closed the lid (so it went on sleep mode) and in the bag.
Off i ran to the exit; into the car and zoomed out of the office premises. One of the security guards even signed me to slow down but he didn't knew what i was going through. As soon as i was on the road, i never came down from the 3rd gear. In no time i was at the highway and overtaking other cars - felt like making of Fast & Furious :D.
Someone really didn't wanted me to reach on time as a heavy load of traffic was in front as soon as i was about 15mins away from my destination (during normal conditions). Water logging in some parts of the highway brought some auto rickshaws at halt. Somehow, i made it back home and it was already 10pm; Vidya ready waiting for me and whatsapp kept reminding me of the party. Off go my shoes, my bag on the sofa, put on my regular chaapals and out of the door in 15 secs.
Vidya locked the door and we headed for the party. A phone call to Kini to confirm the address and 5 min drive to Chiku's place was achieved in 3 mins.
Kini opened the door welcoming us both; Chikhal on the floor with a beer; sweet lil Jia (Chikhal's daughter) and Alisha (Chiku's daughter) shouting "Girish uncle yyyyyeeeeeeeee"; Lalit (aka Lali) at the dinning table with his drink; Vimal (aka Vimla) at the computer table instructing Sunil (aka Chendu) to play the numbers he wanted. And finally Chiku, with a drink ready for me in one hand and his own glass in the other.
There they are, the extending family. All guys with a drink except for Kini who as usual was entertaining everyone; wifey's serving, eating and kids shouting.
Cheers!!! and there was the first sip of Jack Danial's. Aaaahhhhh feels like heaven.
Now comes the best part for me food, food and more food. "Saale dopehar se order kar ke raakha hai." Chiku shouted.
And the fun continues...
"Chalo dumb charades khelte hai." to be moma (Nidhi) shouts and everyone readily agrees. All know what this game is; the trick here was, the movie names can be in any language. Everyone on the room didn't knew more than 3 languages :D.
The game started with Hindi movie names, went to Gujarati, Marathi and ended up with Bhojpuri. We could still guess Gujarati & Marathi movies as most of the gang has these 2 languages as their mother tongue. The guys took the advantage by giving any name in Bhojpuri and convince the ladies that there is this movie - one of the names was "Nahi Dhui Kaakdi khaai" ;)
It's 1:30am, everyone wanted to spend more time but few were working the next day. So, we called it off.

One more get together; had a blast; waiting for another. All thanks to Chiku & Nileema (Chiku's wifey. Aka Nelu or Sherni) for the lovely arrangement. Let's see whose next for a house party :)
